Célia Surget

French rabbi

Célia Surget is a French rabbi who has made significant contributions to the Jewish community. Born and raised in Geneva, she pursued her rabbinical studies at Leo Baeck College, where she was ordained in 2007. This milestone marked her as the second female rabbi in France, a notable achievement in the country's Jewish history. Following her ordination, Surget went on to join the Reform synagogue in Paris and became an active member of the Mouvement Juif Liberal de France.

Surget's dedication to the Jewish community extended to her work with the youth. She played a pivotal role in the creation and development of Netzer France, the Reform youth movement. Her commitment to nurturing the next generation of Jewish leaders and community members has had a lasting impact. In 2012, Surget joined the Radlett and Bushey Reform Synagogue in the United Kingdom, continuing her rabbinical work and expanding her reach within the global Jewish community. Through her work, Surget has demonstrated a strong passion for promoting Jewish values and fostering a sense of community among her congregants.
