Harry Shorstein

Harry Shorstein is a prominent American lawyer born in 1940. He has had a distinguished career in law, particularly in public service. Shorstein served as the State Attorney for Florida's Fourth Judicial Circuit Court, which encompasses Duval, Clay, and Nassau counties. His tenure in this position began in 1991 and lasted until 2008, during which he oversaw the administration of justice in the region.
Shorstein's appointment as State Attorney was made by Governor Lawton Chiles in 1991, following the resignation of his predecessor. He went on to win elections in 1992, 1996, and ran unopposed in 2000 and 2004. After announcing his decision not to seek re-election in 2008, Shorstein returned to private practice, bringing an end to his 17-year tenure as State Attorney. He was succeeded by Angela Corey, who took over the role after his departure. Throughout his career, Shorstein has been affiliated with the Democratic Party.
