Oscar Levant was a multifaceted American entertainer, born in 1906 to Russian-emigrant parents in Pittsburgh, U.S. He demonstrated a strong affinity for music from an early age, going on to study under the tutelage of renowned musicians Zygmunt Stojowski and Arnold Schoenberg. This training laid the foundation for his successful career as a concert pianist, composer, and conductor. Levant's prowess as a pianist is evident in his extensive discography, which comprises 33 albums featuring works by a wide range of classical composers.
