G. Samantha Rosenthal

G. Samantha Rosenthal is an American historian and academic, specializing in the field of history. She is currently an associate professor of History at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia, where she also coordinates the Public History Concentration. In addition to her academic pursuits, Rosenthal is a dedicated activist and has co-founded the Southwest Virginia LGBTQ+ History Project, an initiative aimed at preserving and promoting the history of the LGBTQ+ community in the region.

Rosenthal has authored two books, "Beyond Hawaiʻi: Native Labor in the Pacific World" and "Living Queer History: Remembrance and Belonging in a Southern City", which showcase her research interests and expertise. She is also actively involved in various professional organizations, serving on the governing board of the Committee on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender History and on the editorial board of The Public Historian. Through her work, Rosenthal has established herself as a prominent figure in the field of history, with a particular focus on promoting diversity, inclusion, and social justice.
